Job Description
Plum is seeking experienced engineers to assist hotels in deploying Plum appliances, software applications and API integration. The Plum deployment engineer will work in close partnership with Plum’s sales and engineering teams, focusing exclusively on helping hotels seamlessly integrate Plum into the hotel’s room product and IT systems. The candidate will become an expert on the Plum appliance and its embedded software and hotel management software, and also become deeply familiar with PMS and POS systems, and networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales reps to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining how Plum integrates into hotels systems (e.g., PMS and POS)
- Confer with hotel (IT staffers) to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements
- Work in partnership with hotels to deploy Plum
- Diagnose and triage customer issues, escalating when necessary
- Document deployment learnings and refine deployment process
- Provide feedback to team on status of deployments and suggest technical improvements and solutions
- Periodic travel required for customer training, sales presentations, customer deployments and trade shows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field
- Extensive hospitality IT integration experience preferred
- Experience with wired and wireless networking configuration and troubleshooting
- Understanding of both on-premises and Cloud-based software integration
- Ability to follow technical documentation and help prepare documents / instructions
- Strong technical communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Technical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a lean infrastructure
- Start-up experience preferred
